Successful launch of German satellite EnMap
“Are we seriously launching on April Fools' Day, at the height of the pandemic?”
The answer is: yes! The German hyperspectral satellite mission ENMaP's launch was a success indeed. Read the comment of our operations team member supporting our customer, the German Aerospace Center, with the EnMAP launch and operations.
“There was a big relief and total exhilaration in the control room when we first received a signal from EnMAP over the O'Higgins ground station (in Antarctica) only 28 minutes after launch. Now, after two days in orbit, the entire LEOP team continues to be healthy, in a fantastic mood and is eager to keep performing 'the early LEOP Sequence Of Events' (SOEs) activities that they have prepared extremely well during the simulations. It is really exciting for us, the operations team, to be supporting EnMAP and welcoming it into our 'LEO fleet' alongside our other missions, such as Grace Follow-On and TanDEM-X.”
Congratulations on this successful launch and LEOP to our customer DLR and all the best for this important mission!
